Each year, on average 112 work-related deaths occur in Colorado, or approximately one work-related fatality every three to four days. Every year, thousands of other people are injured on the job or become ill from work-related exposures. The individuals and families affected by occupational injury may face burdens from loss of income, independence, and sometimes life. Work-related injuries, illnesses, and fatalities are preventable with adequate safety and health policies and procedures.
